My dear friend and collaborator Elias Tahan is an accomplished and sought after young photographer in Los Angeles who has graciously come to almost every one of my Los Angeles performances to take amazing backstage, behind-the-scenes and in- the- moment shots. Most of the shots I am sharing in this album are from his camera, except when noted.
As I shared in my Red Diamond video post “Swing with Me” Live from the Music of David Lynch Concert, this night was particularly fantastical and memorable. Recorded live on April 15, 2015, at the historic Ace Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, the concert was dubbed a “legendary tribute concert” which “has already attained near-mythical status” by NME.com. The sold out show benefitted the David Lynch Foundation and featured the performances from Duran Duran, Lykki Li, Karen O, Moby, The Flaming Lips, Sky Ferreira, Zola Jesus, Rebekah Del Rio, Donovan, Jim James and Angelo Badalamenti. Needless to say, I was thrilled to have been a part of it!
Here are some of my favorite images from that evening :

And then we all went backstage so I could change outfits and get ready for the show…

Feeling glamorous! Now a surprise visit with David backstage?!

Wish I could have been there.
I saw the picture with you and your Momma. Am I wrong or is that the Bella Sun you sang with on In My Life and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot?
There’s a special place in my heart for the old hymns….
Yes Ryan! Bella Sun is my little project with Momma Sunshine – my beautiful, bright and talented mother, Sunny Markham. She is such a light in my life. I am so happy you discovered that music. I should do a post for Bella Sun!
