“This is one of my all time favorite pictures.”
And it captures the mood of This Train beautifully, as well as the great fulfillment of the experience of creating it.
This image was taken when we were nearing the end of the 10+ year recording process that would finally yield This Train. We had taken most of the photographs that would be featured in the packaging years before. This photo was from 2010 I believe and shot in the living room area of David’s studio house.
The shot is actually technically a collaborative effort of David and his wife Emily. The Hasselblad was on a tripod. David set up the whole shot and asked Emily to come in and push the button. He told her to jiggle it a little when she did it, which gave us the ghosting in the shot.
Thank you David and Emily!
