Heaven – Official Music Video
I’m so happy to present to you the music video for “Heaven”.
Director Farrell Huntley’s artistic sensibilities and the way she approached the characters were beautifully aligned with the essence of the track. Producer Simon Wallon and this very intimate crew delivered a gorgeous product that I am so proud to share!
This video was filmed the day after the Twin Peaks premiere party in Los Angeles. Joseph and I dragged ourselves out of bed, groggy, sleep deprived, and maybe a little hung over. I was on a tear of days and days of pushing through physical and mental fatigue from too little sleep, too many things going on, and so many heightened emotions because of all that was happening. But the show must go on!
Even through all of that I was excited to work with Farrell and to make art with her. We really connected over the song and her vision for the video to bring it to life, and I could feel intuitively that she was the right choice for this endeavor. I was totally getting the cosmic “hell yes” that I’m always looking for! We only had ONE day to shoot everything because I had to get back to Texas to continue rehearsals with the band. So getting this all done was going to take a little miracle.
The gorgeous and talented actress, Elisha Skorman, was kind enough to put some make up on me and bring me to life (she did my red carpet make up the night before too and hit it out of the park) and Joseph’s and my hair was freshly fabulous from Adrian Elwell’s expert touch.
We started the day of filming at 8am in the record store and pushed through until 9pm that night when the last rays of sun had disappeared. We took one short break the entire day only to eat. Everyone gave 110% to make this video happen and each person involved was very talented and dedicated. It’s the only way to pull something like this off!
Director of Photography Keith Pikus was a beast and just kept getting killer shots under crazy amounts of pressure due to a super tight schedule. Farrell knew exactly what she wanted and Simon kept us on track, no small feat. Our production assistant was on point and a total sweetheart.
On top of that, I loved the clothes that Monica the stylist brought and she was a joy to be around. Joseph did his part beautifully and was also helping in whatever ways the crew needed to get the shot. Everyone was on triple duty for 11 hours straight. It was truly a rich and fulfilling experience with an incredible crew. The final scenes were shot in Tuna Canyon Park, on a gloriously perfect evening for strolling and shooting.
This is the first visual representation of the new music, a big step! I am fully embracing this next phase in the journey and feel so fortunate to have such amazing people to work and create with. Special thanks to Annie O for connecting all of us and touching the video with her singular, signature Annie O magic!
